Celebrate the Love of Reading
This Summer with BookFlix!
BookFLix Site

Summer is approaching — now is the perfect time to start thinking about how to incorporate BookFlix into your summer reading program. BookFlix is a great way to get your students and patrons excited about reading and the library throughout the summer months.
  • Use the new pair, Wild About Books and Welcome to the Library to promote reading and visiting the public library during summer vacation.

  • Have students or patrons write and illustrate their own book. Ask them to share their story with the group or a partner.

  • Review and list the different genres of books you have read as a group this year. What books did your kids favor? Recommend similar books on their summer reading list.

  • Create a word web on the board using the word library as your anchor. Encourage students to brainstorm a list of as many associated words as they can.

  • If you are a school librarian, take a trip to the local public library to familiarize students with all the areas of the library and proper library behavior. Have students obtain library cards.

Remember, since all subscriptions include remote (home) access, schools can include BookFlix pairs on their summer reading lists. BookFlix is an exciting way to help beat the summer reading slump!
