Hairy Mammoth
by: Tara S., Grade: 4

The Hairy Mammoth is a member of the Elephantdae family. They are one of several species of huge, hairy, elephant like creatures. They roamed the earth as recently as 10,000 years ago. Their order is Proboscidea. Their species is Mammathus primigenius. They are only slightly bigger than elephants. I like mammoths because they are hairy and woolly. Hairy mammoths are also called woolly mammoths. That is my short story on woolly mammoths.
