Biography of a Velociraptor
by: Kyle K., Grade: 4

I was prepared for droughts to happen since I live in the desert. This drought was too long, though! I'm a Velociraptor, and my pack and I were looking for water. It'd been 6 years since it last rained! Believe it or not, pack members continued to fall over, knocked out , for what seemed like no reason. At the minute I was hunting for food. I spotted a Saurolophus and called the pack. Together, we attacked at once. Some raptors went for the throat, others going for the body. Soon, the Saurolophus was dead. The pack and I didn't have time to enjoy our meal. A Tarbosaurus charged in, roaring. Even the bravest raptors fled as the Tarbosaurus ate his fill. No water or food! Just when I was about to fall over, storm clouds came. Then, it rained! To make matters better, the pack and I had spotted a herd of Protocerotops! The pack attacked. I pounced on a Protocerotops and dug my claws into it. The Protocerotops shook me off. It charged, but I leaped over it . Another raptor attacked the ceratopsian. The two dinosaurs were locked in combat when, due to the heavy rain, the a sand bank collapsed on them, killing them. The storm was soon over. The pack, including me, had eaten the two dead dinos, leaving the bones bare. At the moment, I was drinking cool, refreshing water. Boy, is life in the desert tough!
