The T-Rex Nest
by: Mary Meghan T., Grade: 4

The rain was pouring onto a family of Tyrannosaurus Rex. The largest, the mother dropped some grass onto the eggs. This would make them warmer. The father T-Rex nudged the mother thoughtfully. Suddenly, there was the sound of cracking. An egg was hatching! Then there was thunder and lightning. The parents closed their eyes because the bright lightning hurt their eyes. When they opened, a juvenile T-Rex barked. The mother T-Rex roared in victory! Then, a velociraptor jumped from the surrounding foilage. The parents stood their ground. The father guarded the nest, and the mother slowly approached the velociraptor. The velociraptor snarled, and lightning flashed behind the engaging mother T-Rex. She snapped her jaws with incredble force, and scared the raptor. The raptor gave one last growl, and then scurried back to the jungle. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was successful.
