"Just a little farther!" you shout to your dogs, who race on to Skwentna. You arrive at the checkpoint, where you give your dogs a rest and massage the weary lead dog. Soon you set off again. You're coming up to the Takotna checkpoint. It's one of the nicest checkpoints on the trail. It's the only checkpoint with a hot shower—and the village gives every musher a steak dinner! But it's snowing so hard that you can't find the markers for the path. Your dogs want to go left—but you vaguely remember a trail map pointing right. Do you go left or right? |
