New Category 'Going Green' Introduced for
2008
Competition
– Three Grand Prizes to be Awarded
One Grand Prize winner will be selected for publication from each of these categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Going Green. Entries in Growing Green, a new category for 2008, can be about anything from recycling to saving electricity to saving endangered species. We encourage you to let your imagination be your guide. Look for additional resources about our environment online.
Each Grand Prize winner will receive:
- $5,000 in merchandise from the Scholastic Book Fairs Instructional
Resource Catalog to be awarded to the public/private school
or non-profit organization of their choice
- 100 copies of their published book
Each winning student receives:
- Framed Award Certificate
- Gold Medallion
Honorable Mention
Twenty-five books are selected as Honorable Mention winners. Each
of these winning schools will receive:
- $500 in merchandise from the Scholastic Book Fairs Instructional
Resource Catalog to be awarded to the public/private school
or non-profit organization of their choice
- Student Award Certificates
Notification of Winners
The three Grand Prize winners and 25 Honorable Mention winners will
be notified by
May 31, 2008.
