In Their Own Words: Davy Crockett by George Sullivan

Review by: Elijah M.
Indiana, Grade 3

Davy Crockett was an incredible soldier and he was famous for fighting in the Alamo war. One of Davy's uncles was said to have incredible qualities.
Davy wanted to become president because he had many exciting plans for the future. When Davy wasn't
a president he went to Texas, but while he was in Texas a war randomly happened. Davy had killed 15 bears with his neighbor. He did that because his family needed meat during the winter. He was also a good person because he had helped poor people.

The reason why I liked the book is because Davy Crockett is a legend and dedicated helping poor people around him. I also liked the book is because Davy Crockett fought in many wars. Davy was a nice person, and he isn't mean. Davy Crockett led a remarkable life. The reason why I didn't like the book is because Davy ran away when he was 13. I also didn't like the book when Davy lost to some elections, and when Davy dies.
