Colorado, Grade 10

It says its fiction but it actually happened

Monster is about a young man who is is 16 year old named Steven Harmon who is is in jail because of a murder that he didn’t do. This crime took place at a drug store there were there other two people were James, King and Richard “Bobo” Evans. James and King were planning to get Steven into this but of course he didn’t want to join. But when king and Bobo rob the store Steven was walking around, so the owner of the store had a gun in his hands but James fought with him so he took the gun and he shoot him and he died, they took all the money, they grab lots of boxes of cigarettes and ran away because police was coming and they were trying to find them, after weeks later they found James and King.
The cops took Steve to Jail too because they said Steven was involved on that just because he was suspicious of the crime. After days the court started, James and King were there, so was Steven, sitting next to his lawyer, he asked how long the case is going to be and they told them its going to be like two weeks. The judge start asking questions to James and King but he thinks Steven killed the man in the store, now is his turn to talk, “I didn’t kill that man, I’m innocent.”
And then the judge talks “this case of murder its more over a murder committed a felonious act.”

After that the judge is going to give instructions on how to consider the evidence presented. But during this time Steven was in jail, he even use to cry because he knows he is innocent, he knows he didn’t kill that man and he thinks that’s an injustice, he hates that place, because its awful, where he cant do anything, surrounded by monsters. His lawyer is doing his best and everything he can to get him out of jail, the court continue, two weeks after the case was over and Steven prove that he was innocent, so James and King went to jail.
This is a really good book, it comes highly recommended to people so they can read it and they can understand how some people can feel in some cases and that not always everything is true, also they can understand people shouldn’t judge the society until the truth is proven.
