  Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

Review by: Jason Z.
Texas, Grade 6

Ten years ago…
Child prodigy, Artemis Fowl II Discovered the fairy race… Now he’s back in the final book of the Final book of the Artemis Fowl series,
Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian.
Opal Koboi is in prison, and has a plan to free her from all charges while simultaneously getting revenge on Artemis Fowl, by using ancient fairy warriors, released directly under the Fowl manor, to possess the bodies of Artemis Fowl’s little brothers. Artemis Fowl has accomplished the impossible and faced unimaginable odds, but even he can’t promise that he will succeed… and even if he does, there won’t be a happy ending this time…
In the Artemis Fowl series the young boy Artemis Fowl II learns to accept others as his equal (besides Archimedes, Einstein, etc.) and to learn to treat others respectfully. But because this book is the last of one of the series, Artemis is no longer young and arrogant… well not that arrogant... The book talks about the child prodigy; Artemis Fowl II who discovers and ransoms the fairy race for money in return for the officer of the Lower Elements Police; the fairy police system, Captain Holly Short. Later Artemis and Holly are forced to join forces multiple times resulting in a bond forming between him and many others of the fairy race including Foaly; the head technician, and Mulch Diggums the dwarf. Now they are forced to join forces once more against the power-hungry Pixie, Opal Koboi, when she tries release Armageddon upon the surface of the Earth.
