  Grade 7 Reviews
Bud Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis

Review by: Hannah K.
California, Grade 7

One thing that is interesting about this book, is that the author Christopher Paul Curtis uses his mind, and comes up with bright and opiniated thoughts about this story that he is describing. One thing that is very good is the image he puts in your mind, because immediately when your reading an image pops into your mind, and Christopher Paul Curtis makes you comprehend more because of the description he uses in this book. Since we don't know a lot of what happened in the 30's it gets it across to me that back then it was MUCH different from today..... No one would just, come and pick you up off the street today, I feel like people were nicer in some places back then, and not in others.

I really enjoyed this book, because the depth that the author would go into was very deep. I didn't like that he said a lot of the phrases over and over again... Like ''the rules and things to make a better liar out of your self.'' I didn't like that, because I felt it was really repeat of and it didn't need to be repeated to get the point across.
