  Elephant Run by Roland Smith

Review by: Nicholas V.
Indiana, Grade 6

Elephant Run by Roland Smithis a very good book. It is a book about a kid named Nick Freestone who live in the middle of a war between the Japenese and Great Britin. Nick lives on Freestone island named after his family. Nick has to face some troubles. I woud tell you but, your going to have to read it for yourself.
Nick has alot of elephants at his elephant camp. Were they train elephants. NICk gets get injured at the elephant camp breaking his ribs. Nick gets captured by the Japenese, later he ecscapse to find his dad who had also ecscaped at a Japenese POW camp
One of my favotite parts of the book is when Nick starts getting shot at by the British captain. The reason that is my favorite part is because he shot at his feet and it look like he was dancing. I can make a connection with my parents being divorced.

I would recomend this book to anyone that likes long books, anyone that likes a little action or anyone that likes books that give alot of infomation. I would give this book a 3 out of 5. This book was very long and at times it caould be very un inportan, butother than that it was ok
