Classic Tales of Terror by H.G. Wells, Saki, Robert Louis Stevenson

Review by: Clay K.
Ohio, Grade 7

Classic Tales of Terror is a short book with 6 scary stories throughout it. The three I enjoyed are, The Strange Orchid, Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde and The Open Window. The Strange Orchid is about a man who buys a strange orchid that puts him to sleep. Will the plant take his life?

The Open Window is about a 15 year old girl who sees shadows out her aunts' window. Are they real or just in her head? In my opinion, The Strange Orchid is interesting but slow at the beginning and picks up at the end. The story, Open Window, is a interesting story that includes some good thrills throughout. If you like scary stories, this is the book for you.
