The Books of Elsewhere #1: The Shadows by Jacqueline West

Review by: Mekal E.
Florida, Grade 6

The books of elsewhere is a outstanding series but my favorite of all is the shadows. The shadows is my favorite because once you start to read the first few sentences it grabs your attention the takes a hold of you and doesn't let go. I couldn't leave the book the characters change very often in the story this creates a better plot which grow throughout the story.

I like this this story because of the characters. Olive, the main character really relates to me. She has a mysterious, creative, and imaginative way of looking at things. That's mostly how I live my life, very commonly. The book is a special book because once you start reading it puts a picture through your mind, every word you read. The book has integrity, mystery, and hidden secrets. New characters develop along the way. Then the character would would grow a better personality which brings the story together. The setting is very interesting. New places at new times. Everything comes together.
