Review by: Jose A. North Carolina, Grade 5 This book is about a kid named Jake Gruner. His town was captured by the German soldiers during the war. They took Jake to work camps. Prisoners died each day. Does he get out of the camps and be rescued or does he die. Read the book to find out more. I liked the book because it showed adventure. My favorite part is when Jake gets captured by the German soldiers.
