  Divergent by Veronica Roth

Review by: Aly T.
Wisconsin, Grade 5

In Divergent, the different factions are Dauntless, which means to be the brave, Abnegation, which means to be selfless, Amity, which means to be peaceful, Erudite, which means to be intelligent, Candor which means to be honest, and Divergent, which means to be in multiple factions and they have to chose one. They put you under a simulation to figure out what faction you are based on the the choices you make. Tris is the main character and choose to be in Dauntless and her brother Caleb is in Erudite. Dauntless puts you under simulations to teach you to face your fears. If I lived in a city like that I would want to be in Dauntless because I think I am very brave. I took a quiz and I was Divergent.

Divergent is a very interesting book because of how the city is split up into factions and each faction has its own strength.Tris lived with her family when she was little.Caleb and Tris went to different factions then they were in when they were little. When Caleb and Tris were little they where in Abnegation with their family. Tris is very brave. She makes her own decisions and doesn't let anyone tell her what to do.
