Army Life In A Black Regiment by Colonel Thomas W. Higginson

Review by: Jauque L.
Louisiana, Grade 10

This book would be considered a diary as far as the genre goes. This book is a good educational book if u like war stories as much as I do. The antagonist is the war and the protagonist would be Colonel Thomas W. Higginson. It is basically about first regiment mustered into the United States. There were hardly any of the slaves were legally free.
The climax would have been when Colonel Thomas W. Higginson was shot.

I like the book because i love war books. At first I didn't know if it would be good, but it is very interesting to see how African Americans where so read and enthoused to serve for America.
