Harry Potter #5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Review by: Amanda D.
Ohio, Grade 7

In the beginning of the book, Harry has done a patronus charm in the presence of a muggle. (non-magical folk)He has to go to a hearing to see if he will get expelled from Hogwarts. After the hearing, he goes to school as a 5th year. In the Great Hall of Hogwarts, Dumbledore gives welcome to Umbridge, who is teaching defense against the dark arts. There is one thing though. She is part of the Ministry of Magic, and she was one of the judges of Harry's hearing. As they go through the school year without Dumbledore because he mysteriously left without warning,
rules change in the school, and O.W.L.S. are introduced.

I loved this book because there are great twists and turns in the plot, and many surprises for the readers to endure. I grew up with the Harry Potter series, and I still read them and think they are fantastic. Order of the Phoenix is a great book for readers who would like a challenge, since it is about 875 pages long, with 38 chapters in all. 12/10. Awesome Read.
