Hell Is Empty by Craig Johnson

Review by: Sam D.
Kansas, Grade 12

Walt Longmire, sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, claims that he is completely sane. However, on his pursuit of an escaped Indian prisoner, he is visited by a certain individual from his past. The individual was involved in a last case in which Walt proved his innocence. The only problem is that the individual has been dead for years.

I enjoyed the book because it held a certain suspense throughout it. It offered a point of view coming from a man who has struggled with many things, such as the death of his wife. He finds comfort in past memories of people who are important to him, although many are gone.
