Forged by fire by Sharon M. Draper

Review by: Angel V.
Wisconsin, Grade 7

Forged by fire by Sharon M. Draper is a mature, fiction drama. This book starts with the character Gerald, who is a young boy and gets abused by his parents. The overall plot is Gerald gets abused by his mom and step dad. His mom is a drug addicted person. Then he starts to live with his Aunt Queen, he doesn't know why, but then he finds out that he has to live with her because his mom went to jail for abandonment charges. Later in the book his aunt dies from an illness. He has to go live with his step dad who abuses him too.

I liked this book. First, I liked this because it has a lot of dramas and three different settings because he has to live with three people. I like this book it is really sad and because he hates his life. Overall, I would recommend this book to people who like drama.
