The Astounding Broccoli Boy by Frank Cottrell Boyce

Review by: Britni R.
South Carolina, Grade 7

Catchy! That's what I think about when i read ''The Astounding Broccoli Boy'' By.Frank Cottrell Boyce. The main characters are Rory Rooney, a small weak boy, and Tommy-Lee Komisky, a large strong bully. They wanted to become superheros and, they thought they were when something strange happened. They tried to go out in the world and a hospital (because of their condition) stood in their way. They solved it every night, by midnight when they fell asleep , until they were caught. They turned back peach, Tommy-Lee Komisky stopped bullying Rory Rooney and they became friends and hero's.

Imagery! It's what pops into my head when I read this book because the author uses good language to make it play through your skull. In this quote ''Our reflections walked through them like ghost that couldn't play'' there's images that zoom through your mind and it feels like you really there experiencing it.

I do recommend this book because it shows that everyone is a hero, no matter what color, size, etc. The rating I would give this book is about 4/5 stars, just because of minor details.
