The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

Review by: McKenzie R.
Missouri, Grade 10

This book is the diary of a teenage Jewish girl and her family who go into hiding to avoid being captured by Nazis. Anne and her family go to the extremes to remain in hiding and have a constant fear of being caught.

I enjoyed reading this book because by reading Anne's journal, I learned what Anne's thoughts were about the situation. Also, this book reminds readers that the Holocaust isn't just a section in history books. By reading Anne's diary readers have a better understanding of the struggles Jews faced under Nazi persecution.
