The Black Stallion by Walter Farley

Review by: Kelly C.

The Black Stallion was first wrote in 1941!

The Black Stallion is a book by Walter Farley that was first published in 1941. This classic book follows the adventures of Alec Ramsay, the Black and eventually Henry. Alec first meets Black in a port at Arabia. The Black and Alec get washed ashore together on an island and have to learn to survive, but build a strong relationship as they are there and eventually learn to trust each other.

This was an amazing book! The back of the book recommends 8-12 year old, but I think it is for all ages. But, if youíre looking for more comedic book and donít like serious books, then this might not be for you. If you like horses or animals in general, you will for sure love reading Alec and Blackís adventure as they learn about things like horse racing, and much more. It provides great descriptions for those who want to imagine clearly what the Black and other horses look like. There is also a movie that was filmed thirty eight years after the first book that you should go watch if you can.
