The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

Review by: Evan R.
Ohio, Grade 10

One interesting thing about the book is that they are located underground in a place called the magesterium. This place is where they learn wizardry and the rules of magic.

One reason that I enjoyed this book is because of Call. Callís character has sarcastic humor throughout the book and can snap quick remarks at his teachers or fellow students. Call thinks that there is something wrong with him and by learning more magic he is growing that evil that he thinks will take him over. It is exhilarating to see that Call tries to learn as much as possible but also tries to check his growth as he stands atop a tightrope of who he is going to be.
