The Great Turkey Walk by Kathleen Karr

Review by: Kathy K.
Kansas, Grade 6

This book takes place in 1860. It is about a 15-year old boy who walks 1000 turkeys from St Loius to Denver. There are many obstacles that Simon must overcome on his journey. The book has many funny parts such as when Pa and Cleaver are tarred and feathered.

I liked this book because it was fun to read. It was interesting to read about life in the 1860's. Karr writes in a way that is entertaining and exciting.
