An interesting thing about the book is that she never got caught faking her own pregnancy.
Imagine faking your own pregnancy. Would you get away with it? Who would you tell? Would you be able to trust the people/person you tell? Well, thatís exactly was Gaby Rodriguez did for her senior project. She was always told she was going to end up as a teen parent like her siblings. She was tired of being stereotyped by everyone saying she wasnít going to have a life and was going to waste it by being pregnant at a young age. Gaby wanted to see how they were going to react and how they would treat her. Besides, she was such a good student and lots of people thought she was going to have a good life ahead of her, so saying sheís pregnant might change peopleís perspectives on her,but at the same time they wonít be because itís in her genes.
In the memoir, The Pregnancy Project by Jenna Glatzer with Gabby Rodriguez it explains all of Gaby's struggles having to deal with her fake pregnancy and getting all this hate, bad things said about her, and just so many people changing the way they used to see her. The main point of why she decided to do her project is to fight stereotypes and try to overcome the obstacles, she saw that there was light at the end of the tunnel to be successful in life and the project ended up as a huge success.
