The Girl With The Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts

Review by: Teegan N.
Michigan, Grade 7

One of the best events in this book are when Katie uses her power and shuts the door on the mean old man next door who never pays for his paper. One other thing that happens in the book is all throughout the book she gets different babysitters cause she never likes them and scares them off and the ways she scares them off is clever and funny like how she scared off Mrs.H by setting the table with her mind and acting like nothing was different.

This book is very mysterious and interesting. Yes, there may be magic but they sew it into the story so well that it makes you feel like this could be true. Katie by far is the best character in the book, not just because sheís the main character, but because of her cleverness and her smarts. Itís so funny watching her chase away all of her babysitters and itís nice watching her find who the good and bad people are in life. I really like this authorís writing style because she details her writing really well and when she shows you the good characters she really makes you love them! When the author shows you the bad characters she makes it clear as to why they are disliked. In conclusion, you should read this book if youíre interested in fantasy books and enjoy a smart and witty main character.
