Can You Keep a Secret? by R.L. Stine

Review by: Celso O.
New Jersey, Grade 7

I've just finished reading a book called Can you keep a secret by R.L. Stine. The genre is Horror fiction. R.L. Stine has won many awards including Disney Adventures Kids' Choice Award, The Champion of reading award, and also the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. R.L. Stine is married to Jane Waldhorn and has 1 child named Matthew.

The main character in Can you keep a secret is Eddie the conflict is they find a briefcase with money inside. They don't know what to do with the money so they hide the money. They promise to not take the money. A few weeks go by and they go to see if they kept their promise and they find that the money is gone. Eddie embarks into a search to find who took the money from where they hid the money.

In writing this book, Stine was trying to to help us understand that if you don't keep your promise there are consequences that could affect you in the future. But if you do break a promise it's better to come clean and not keep it from them.

Aldo I was keeping up with the book and its plot I think the book had some unnecessary things that made it more unrealistic. Evan with the unnecessary things in the book I liked the book and the plot that it has. The book is pretty intriguing and has a lot of good moments but its not the best.

I would recommend this book to kids who like horror book with mystery involved as well. To find out what happened in the end you have to read the book and find out for your self.
