I Funny School of Laughs by James Patterson

Review by: Jacob S.
New Jersey, Grade 7

The characters are very diverse and the story is touching.

I would like to start by saying that I Funny School of Laughs by James Patterson is an amazing quick read for a teen like me. The school-based setting and plot are extremely relatable. All the characters, even the bullies, are likable, fun characters. The story is touching. Each book in this series keeps getting better and better with powerful plots and themes. Though this book has many good traits, I would have to say that my favorite aspect of this book is the characters. The setting very much impacts the characters since the setting is school. Because of this, each character is either a stereotypical friend, bully, or bystander. Every character is lovable or relatable in their way. Every character plays a role. From the protagonistís love interest to the comic relieve character. Each character has an amazing personal story arch, and no main or background character is dry or flat. For those reasons, I believe this book is a great quick and relaxed read anyone can pick up and enjoy.
