Bud not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis

Review by: Noah C.
New York, Grade 6

An interesting thing about the book is, Bud is a boy Who’s mother died from depression and was sent to a foster care and he handled it amazingly. The way he handled it amazingly was he did not cry he tried to stay happy and not face the facts he was happy that he was able to go to a safe place.

I like the book because the book is very historical that is because it took place in 1936 and is all about the Great Depression. Also I learned from this book that the Great Depression was horrible. Just so bud could get food he had to wait a line that goes out the store he tried skipping the line but he almost got beat up so some random people pretended they were his family to avoid him getting beat up.
