One of the things i find interesting about the book is that Jimmy is surronded by some of the worst things a teenager can be faced with. A nasty divorce between his parants and an alcoholic father. And yet he still seems to perform wonderfully in the ways of baseball. It is truely asham that his evolving drinking problem stopped him from proving to the world that he has all the talant, mentle toughness, and phisical attributes needed to excel in a sport like baseball.
One of the things I liked about the book was that Seth had to over come imense peer pressure. From not only a friend but his best friend who he had always trusted. In the ways of baseball and everyday life.
