David Rain's Dragons #1: The Fire Within by Chris D'Lacey

Review by: Lam T.
Ohio, Grade 7

Ever wonder what happened to dragons long ago? Well here’s one theory of Chris D’ Lacey’s in The Fire Within. This book starts with a mother and daughter having clay making business and an open spot up in their attic for a tenant. After awhile this tenant starts unraveling the secret to the clay dragons and what makes them so special.
This science fiction story will have u wanting to read more. This book makes you think so much about what happened to an extinct species or what could happen.
Chris D’ Lacey is well known for writing so much detail in his books that you feel like your right in the action. One detailed part was how he describes an object, such as this passage. “There was a sploop and a strange sort of bubbling sound.” “The mower lurched sideways and puttered to a stop.”
If you like this book you’ll like the rest of his books because they’re all about how dragons live on and on. This book teaches you how spirits live on and how trying and perseverance will get you somewhere.

This book is for everyone that’s interested in science fiction stories and for people that have a sense of imagination. If you can really imagine what the author is trying to picture, the scenery is unbelievable
