Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis

Review by: John M.
Arizona, Grade 7

Christopher Paul Curtis wrote about his hometown in Flint, Michigan. Buds mother dies and he tries to find his father. The only clue that him mother left him were blue flyers of a band and Bud has a feeling the blue flyer has his father on it.

I liked the book. I liked it because it was an adventure/mystery. The setting is in Flint, Michigan during the depression in the 1930's. Bud is trying to find is father and he searches through out Michigan. Is the man really his father?
The author includes members of his family to portray fictitious characters in the book.
