Charlie Wilcox's Great War by Sharron E. McKay

Review by: Ahsan F.
Ontario, Grade 8

You can imagine as if you are in the military war zone when you are reading “Charlie Wilcox’s Great War”. You could hear the guns shooting and when you even dare to stand in No Mans Land bullets will approach you and death may be near even though these soldiers live and die. In the battle front there is a heavy price for treason in the Royal Army .Charlie is shocked at how his friend Bill died. When Charlie heard about this he was inflamed with hatred because Bill died by his own squadron. Read the book to get to know Charlie and knowing how he gets his vengeance.

The book was astonishing and totally blew me away. The book kept you reading and surpassed my expectations. This book was different then other army/world war books because it had something in it that other novels didn’t and that’s that you visualize how it’s like being and gives a very good mood to the story and gives you the thought about the duty of army men. Indeed this novel is prodigious.
