4th Grade Rats by Jerry Spinelli

Review by: Carson's Room 15 K.
California, Grade 4

Are you looking for a book full of action or adventure? Well, this is not that book. Instead, Fourth Grade Rats by Jerry Spinelli will teach you how to be a rat. You will also learn the worst tips for romance and becoming a man. Imagine you’ve had a crush on a girl since first grade and you really want to impress her. This happened to a boy named Suds. His best friend Joey teaches Suds tips on how to be a man. You will not believe the things that Joey and Suds do! If you want to find out the crazy actions they do and what Suds learns in the end, you HAVE to read this book!
We think Jerry Spinelli’s message is that you should be yourself and not always follow other people’s advice because you never know if it’s good or bad. Just be yourself and don’t be what others tell you to be. If you are someone that you are not then you will probably have problems later on like Suds and Joey.
Room 15 LOVED this book because it is interesting, inspiring and hilarious. This book is very easy to relate to especially if you are in 4th grade. The book is filled with descriptions and excitement.

Our class recommends this book to everyone who wants to be tough or wants to impress someone. We love this book and we know you will love it too. Even if you’re not in fourth grade we know you will LOVE it.
