If I Have a Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince? by Melissa Kantor

Review by: Reina C.
Washington, Grade 10

The most interesting event that occurred was when main character Lucy Norton goes from hanging out with no one to hanging out with the most popular girls at her school. She decides that being at a new school has given her the chance to be who she wants to be. She doesn't let her step mother, step sisters, or her father never being home stop her from doing so. She becomes prom queen and gets the boyfriend of her dreams. Her overall goal is shown throughout the book which interested me the most.

I really liked this book for many reasons. The main reason is that this book was very similar to the movie A Cinderella Story or the Disney movie Cinderella. Lucy went through a lot throughout the novel. I like how at first Lucy kept to herself, but soon her confidence went up. Showing both sides of the main character made me understand the novel even more. The author Melissa Kantor did a great job of explaining all of the things she had to deal with in such great detail.
