The Book Without Words: A Fable of Medieval Magic by Avi

Review by: Wesley T.
Washington, Grade 7

Magic! A term known to magicians but this is a different kind of magic called Alchemy. Thorston a great Alchemist try’s to take the life from his servant Sybil. As Sybil gets weaker and weaker from the potion Thorston gets younger and stronger. Alfric younger than Sybil try’s to help by reading the Alchemy book. Sybil and Alfric go give the book to Brother Wilfred. Sybil and alfric go back to their home and thorston threatens Sybil so she stands up to him until help comes. The theme is stand up to your enemies because Sybil had to stand up to Thorston.

I think avi wrote this book to explane a different kind of science. I think this book is great for people that like fantasy and magic. this is a great book.
