Washington, Grade 7
Do you like a good mystery book? How about a baseball book? This book Haunting At Home Plate written by David Patneaude is the perfect mix of a baseball book and a mystery book. It mostly takes place at a baseball field in the spring. Nelson and his baseball team try to find out who has been writing messages in the dirt. They think it's a ghost of Andy Kirk.
I loved this book because of the way it is written. i also like it because mystery books are my favorite type of books. I love watching softball and playing it so thats also why i loved it. The book is just wonderful with all the different things going on.
Mike is the baseball team's manager. She is also Nelson's cousin. She's a college student. She played softball for a while. Mike's real name is Michelle.
Gannon plays for the, Expos. It's a different baseball team. Gannon used to play for the Dodgers. Gannon was helping Nelson find out who was leaving the messages. One of the notes said,'' second chances are as rare as rainbows''. That is Nelson's and Gannon's favorite quote.
Andy Kirk is a guy that would the always sit in a tree and watch the baseball games. He would also keep track of the score with coins. Once when he did that he lost his balance and fell of f the tree and died. Now Nelson thinks that it is the ghost of Andy Kirk leaving the messages. Another message said,'' sweet dreams?-A.K.'' That was when Gannon and Nelson slept at the baseball field.
The most important charter is Nelson. When i read this book it sounds like Nelson is reading it to me when i read it. I think the author wrote this book because maybe something i like this happened in the past.
The main idea of this book is to find out who has been leaving the notes. Also it's about the Dodgers getting to the play offs for baseball.
Spring time is the perfect season to play baseball. School just got out. It is also a wonderful time to play your favorite sport.
Nelson's dad finally comes home. He gets to see his son plat baseball for the first time this year. They win the playoffs against the Expos. They were undefeated for the whole season.
This book is just like life right now. People are playing baseball at this very moment. Kids and teens are also at school right now.
This book is the perfect medicine to cure boredom. It is an amazing mix between a sports book and a mystery book. Haunting At Home Plate is for sure my favorite book.
