Throughout the novel the beginning of each chapter began with well-known literary quotes, often times from Shakespeare, which could be analyzed to catch a glimpse of what the chapter is about. These quotes relate most directly to the main character’s true love Michael, who is very fond of Shakespeare. These quotes are also a clear display of the profundity of the main character’s relationships.
The book was entertaining and had a fluidity that left me wanting to read more. The comic relief was perfectly dispersed to make the novel so realistic. The characters were effortless to relate to. The imagery of food being the bond between characters was an interesting twist on the outlook on relationships.
