Charlie Wilcox's Great War by Sharon E. Mckay

Review by: Tala E.
Ontario, Grade 8

All the adventures in this book were exciting but this one particular forced me to keep reading. The adventure was: Charlie and Weston landing on the enemy lines. Charlie not knowing how to reach his safe side before he would get caught by the Germans. Besides the danger that Charlie and Weston are in, many outrageous things happen.

The adventures of Charlie is the only reason I kept reading this book. I loved how Sharon emphasises the adventures, and she made me feel or describe every image of an adventure, ex: (when Charlie and Weston landed on no-mans land, I described the myself being surrounded by dead bodies or seeing the bombs above me, flying furiously towards the enemies). Though the one thing I disliked about this book, is how the author doesn't specify the speaker ex:
( Jump!!)
( I cant!!)
In order to identify the speaker, you would have to reread the paragraph.
