Escape to the Forest: Based on a True Story of the Holocaust by Ruth Yaffe Radin

Review by: Patrick J.
Washington, Grade 2

Sarah, a ten-year old girl who lived in Poland is Jewish, making her a victim of Hitler’s soldiers, the Nazis. Nazis made a camp for the Jews. There, the people were sorted out. Some people lived. Some people died. Unfortunately, Sarah’s family was all forced to head to the path to die. In the middle of the path, Sarah and her brother escaped to the forest to live with a good guy on a mission to save lives. In the end, they found him.

I don’t like this book because there is a lot of violence in this book, like if Jews don’t behave, Nazis immediately uh, “Make them die.” I would recommend this book to people who like violence and do not scream out loud when you read the word “Blood.”
