Alex Rider #1: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz

Review by: Alec N.
West Virginia, Grade 8

Stormbreaker is a mystery&adventure book written by Anthony Horowitz. It takes place in England during a modern-day society. The main character of the book is a 14-year old boy named Alex Rider. He tells a story of how his uncle,Ian Rider who was said to be a ''Banker'',was supposedly killed in a ''Car Wreck'', but yet bullet holes were found all across his car...Alex asks himself,''Why would someone want to murder a banker?''

Alex comes to find out that his uncle was actually a spy for MI6,Britain's special intelligence agency. He was sent on a mission to investigate a suspicious line of products,Stormbreakers,
made by a company ran by a man named Herod Sayle.Alex is sent to investigate further,it is a dangerous thing, and if he makes one slip-up,he will be killed.Alex says,''My uncle was a spy. Thanks to you he's dead.''

I enjoyed this book;and would highly recommend it.It makes you want to keep turning pages from the beginning of the story to the end.It is a book that I would like to have been even longer, though it was 234 pages.I believe any age range from pre-teen to adult would enjoy reading this book.I would highly recommend this book if you want a good mystery\adventure book.It is a great book!
