A Dog Called Kitty by Bill Wallace

Review by: Hayley C.
Massachusetts, Grade 6

In the end something a little sad happens.

A dog called Kitty is a sad but warming story by Bill Wallace. It is about a boy named Ricky who has always been afraid of dogs, because when he was younger one had hurt him and he couldn't forget the pain he was in. he had moved and they now lived on a farm in Oklahoma. They had met a little brown puppy but even though it was very small, Ricky was still afraid. But when the dog comes to need his help, Ricky decides that it wouldn't hurt to atleast take care of him so he doesn't starve to death. But instead of running him off like he had planned, they come to like one another. Ricky decides to keep him after all. But he can get into a lot of trouble and Ricky will have to protect him. In the end something a little sad happens but in my opinion, it has to be one of the best books I've ever read. On a scale of one to ten, I would probably give it an eight. I'd recommend this book if you would like to know what else happens.
