  Daemon Hall by Andrew Nance

Review by: Jasmin D.
Florida, Grade 7

Daemon Hall is a wonderful thriller and mystery novel by new author Andrew Nance. The plot revolves around the point of view of teenager Wade Reilly. Wade and four others are semi-finalist in a contest hosted by famed author Ian Tremblin. In this contest, hopeful writers were asked to write a scary story, to be judged by Tremblin. The five finalist who made it through would tell their story to the author in person,at night, in the haunted mansion, Daemon Hall. As darkness falls, a mystery unravels, and the finalist must find the secret of Daemon Hall.

I liked the writing style of the book. The main story is in first person, but the short stories in it are in different points of view. I also loved the suspense of the plot, the crazy twists. This book I just couldn't put down, even though I was scared to death. The descriptions in the book painted a most vivid picture in my mind. This was the first novel in my life that really played out the story.
