Review by: Adriana R.

Have you ever wondered how it feels like to lose a pet? Well Old Yeller is a story that will teach you about pets. Old Yeller is a story about a boy and his dog.The story is written by Fred Gipson.Old yeller is a stray but luckily gets found by a boy named Travis. The stray's name is Old Yeller because yeller was the color of his fur and yeller was used instead of Yellow back then. Travis found him when he kept on eating their hanging meat. They went through lots of troubles from wrestling a bear to getting bit by a pig but they still lived happily until the end when something sad occurs. The story is very sad but it is filled with suspense. The author probably wrote the book to so the reader can see how important it is to care for your pets. Someone who loves suspense stories would probably be interested in reading Old Yeller by Fred Gipson.

I liked this book because it is filled with suspense. My favorite part was when Old Yeller saved Little Arliss(Travis's brother) from the bear. The part I didn't like was when Old Yeller got bit by the pig because the author didnt explain much a out the part. The author should've added more detail and suspense so the story can be interesting. My rating for this book is 10 stars out of 10 stars.
