Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski

Review by: Claudia M.
Kansas, Grade 7

The Cabinet of Wonders was fiction but it had the real word, just with extra pizzazz. Petra Kronos and her family in Bohemia. After her father went to Prague, the capital, to build a fantastic clock for the Prince of Bohemia. The prince in turn took out Mikal Kronos’ eyes to keep and use for himself. Petra decides she will go to Prague and become a servant in the , castle, but before that happens she met a friend who will help her steal the eyes’ of her father back. Finally, they have what they came for, but before they leave someone is capable of ratting them out.

I liked the book because it had our actual world in it, just with a few extra twists. The story is about family and how much her dad means to her and what she will do to keep his happiness. My dad means a lot to me and I would have done what she had done if I had the chance. There is a second book in the series and I can’t wait to read it.
