  Reviews of Realistic Books
  Old Yeller by Fred Gipson

Review by: Brandon B.
Wisconsin, Grade 4

The book is interesting because it explains how life is hard labor and how true friendship is important. When their dad leaves, he leaves Travis in charge. When Old Yeller, a thieving stray dog steals some meat, the older boy Travis can't stand it. But when Old Yeller saves his family and they do many things together, he changes his mind and they become best friends and have countless adventures throughout the book.

I liked this book because it had a lot of action-filled parts like when they were marking the hogs.
