  Assassin by Anna Myers

Review by: Diana S.
Ohio, Grade 6

I like how the book had at least one historical fact each page.

Assassin By Anna Myers, Arabella mother died when she was only eight, but her father couldnít handle it, so he left Bella at her grandmotherís house in Washington D.C. Her grandmother was a seamstress for the Presidentís wife. One day she brings Bella along to the White house to learn how to be a seamstress, ever thought Bella wants to be in a play.
Wilkes or John Wilkes Booth is an actor from a wealthy family in southern whose loyalties lies with confederacy. He gets angry when America elects Lincoln as president. He knows that Lincoln will want to stop the slavery, but he wonít let him do that.
Bella and Steve (child of a servant) thinks that Mr. Lincoln is a kind man, and that he should stop slavery. Especially because someone more important took the time to speak to a servantsí children.
I have to say this book was great. Even though you know what is going to happen to Abraham at the end of the book, being a little emotional I cried a little at the end. I really like the emotional plays. I think that the writer (Anna Myers) did a great job writing the book. I would rate this book 10 out 10.
I would recommend this book to people who want to learn about history and why Lincoln got killed in the first place. And to people who just want to read for fun. Well I would recommend this book to anyone because this book was great.
