Stuck in Neutral Reading Response. The book I am reading is Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman. It is about a young boy named Shawn who talks about how miserable his life is. He has a disability where he has many of seizures, and he is in a wheelchair and cannot talk. His father once said that he wanted to kill him because of his sickness. Therefore Shawn is trying to stay away from his father because he is scared he will kill him. Shawn goes to a special school where there are more kids with the same disability as him. He does not think that his disability is so terrible, but other people in his life do not like it so much, especially his father.

I like this book because a boy talks about how he lives with the disability that he has. Some of the people in his life cannot cope with the way he is and do not accept it. I like the way Shawn talks about his life and tells about how he lives with the disability that he has. One thing that I do not like about this book is that it is kind of boring. Someone that talks about their life a lot and tells about themselves a lot starts to get boring after a while. It was funny when Shawn talked about when he went to the doctor and the doctor bent over him to help him get out of his wheelchair. The only exciting moment in the book was when Shawn’s parents got into a argument and starting screaming loudly. The character reminds me of a regular person just like himself. I have never met a person like him before, not in my life. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read about a person that talks about their life and how they deal with the everyday life.
