A Year Without Autumn by Liz Kessler

Review by: Alaina K.
Michigan, Grade 6

This was the first book of this author I read

When I read this book I really felt like I was in Britain with Autumn and Jenni. It was the 2nd to last week of the sumer when Autumn and Jenni, best friends , get to meet each other again! It all happens when Jenni is going to meet Autumn bust she got stuck in the wrong elevator and then……

Autumn’s the reason I loved this book. She is always so nice and loving and I loved her best friend Jenni also. She is shy but can really show it. She does what ever Autumn wants to do just to be nice. Some other characters are there like Autumn and Jenni’s brothers they are Mickey and Craig. They’re known as annoying but in a way they are nice and sweet . Near the end there is a little baby named Thea but who is she?

This book is filled with many interesting characters but the point of view is first person through Jenni’s eyes . Jenni is an amazing friend that you can count on except when she ends up somewhere else and has no clue what in the world is happening.

The theme in theme in this book is Stay with your friend whatever happens. In this book Jenni as the point of view doesn’t know what has happened and during the time she has lost her friendship . It’s OVER with Autumn.

Jenni is getting in and out of the elevator trying to get back but one time it stops right in the middle right where she needs it is this a miracle? She gets out right in time to stop everything that has happened so their friendship would not be over. But can she do it. Will she be a HERO?
