  Grade 10 Reviews
  Monster by Walter Dean Myers

Review by: Eli S.
Minnesota, Grade 10

I just finished the book Monster by Walter Dean Myers. Itís a bout a guy who gets involved in a drugstore robbery, and they end up killing the store owner. About a week later the police come up to Steve Harmonís front door and asked him some questions and they took him to the police station for an interview. After that he was sentenced to a trialÖ
I thought that this was a very well put together book. Just the layout and the story line is awesome. It is just like reading a personal journal. Some parts of the book is typed and others are hand written journal pages from Steve. This makes the book very easy to read and I really like that about the book. It also really draws you into the book because it keeps you thinking all the time. Like whatís going to happen next, or who is going to crack and break down. Steve does a very good job at not breaking down in the jail cell because he knows if he does he will be picked on constantly.
I really enjoyed this book and I hope you would take the time to read this as well. I donít usually like to read and this book made me want this book to be longer than it is.

It was a book that kept me thinking what was going to happen next the whole time i read it.
